What is Paintloon?
Paintloon is a creative idea of fine artist and body painter Bella Volen (Bulgaria, living in Austria). In 2009 Bella was invited to take part in a balloon art and body painting festival in Shanghai- China, where she also won the first prize award. There she sow and understood the visual potential of balloon twisting. Very short after her trip she came up with the idea of combining painting on canvas with painted balloons and body painting. In Shangai she met the and balloon artist and designer Guido Verhoef (The Netherlands). Together they created paintloon on human bodies, but also decors and paintloon sculptures.
Paintloon is painting on a balloon. It is a combination of fine art, body painting and balloon sculpting. With latex modelling balloons details, objects, accessories or even complete costumes are made which creates an extension for the body paint or fine artist to paint on, allowing the ability to merge the body or composition fully with any additional parts into one design. |
